Belfast Bride on: My Favourite NI Wedding Dress Shops

Two days after getting engaged I booked my first dress appointment… Two days! I hadn’t even a style in mind, a date set or a venue but I knew my whole day would be centred around THE DRESS!

After one bridal appointment I knew the style of dress I wanted and I knew I would never go into another appointment unprepared. Before booking an appointment with a dress shop make sure you know your stuff; which designers they stock, do they stock your style and are they in your price range (The Belfast Bride can help with all of these questions and have a blog post to come on them!).

With that in mind. Here are The Belfast Bride’s top wedding dress shops that I love in 2015.

1. Petticoat Lane Bridal, Hillsborough

Petticoat Lane is the epitome of wedding dress shops. Katie who owns the store is known for going above and beyond for brides, a trait she has instilled in the girls who work with her. On a corner of the quaint Hillsborough village, this gem of a shop stocks some of the most well known yet diverse designers in Northern Ireland.

2. Ivory and Pearl, Comber

Ivory and Pearl was one of the newest bridal boutiques in NI when I was wedding dress shopping. Two years on and it continues to grow strength on strength as a bridal retailer. Stocking almost all exclusive designers in Ireland, the selection of traditional and vintage gowns is second to none.

3. Divinity Bridal, Lisburn

After visiting Divinity Bridal recently it is one of my new favourites. The girls in this bridal store cannot do enough for the brides and bridal parties which walk through their door. I had the pleasure of watching a bride find her dream dress in the store and it was so much fun! If you are after a diverse range of gowns, very friendly staff and great fun then this is the store for you.

4. Serendipty Bridal Boutique, Fivemiletown

Time and time again, brides pass on raving reviews of this award winning store. Serendipty may be a little further out from Belfast but if the designers they stock are of interest to you then it is definitely worth the trip to Fivemiletown.

5. McElhinneys Bridal Rooms, Ballybofey

McElhinneys have one of the most extensive wedding dress collections in Ireland with 500+ dresses on site. As a premium stockist for the majority of their designers, you can be sure to browse dresses before other stores may even receive their sample and with bridal gowns covering all budgets you can be sure to receive an exquisite service.

Lush Belfast

Anyone who has ever been round Belfast city centre will know that Lush is one of the most alternative and best smelling stores!

I had never really used Lush products before last year, I always thought they wouldn’t work or were too expensive. Yet nowadays, I use it religiously and would call myself a lush addict!

I started by using the ‘breath of fresh air’ toner water and it is honestly one of the best things I have ever bought; it smells so fresh and leaves your skin feeling clean and healthy. I use it every day after I wash my face and even though I think I have most of my make up off, it always removes make up I didn’t even think was still on my face!

My current second favourite product is mask of magnaminty, it is the biggest lifesaver for my skin.

For months I would always get maybe one spot or blemish every couple of weeks but there would always be little white spots or little blemishes that never disappeared and I hated them! I went into LUSH and got the mask.

I use it every other day and either put some over my problem areas or just use it as an all over face mask. I leave it on for 5 minute then wash it off and it leaves my skin so soft and silky. It also smells incredibly of mint and I was able to notice a difference within a week!

Style Diary

Anyone who knows me will know I love taking pictures and am obsessed with fashion so I thought what better than to merge both of them and create a style diary to showcase my favourite outfits and purchases!

I am hoping to post these style diary posts daily keeping you all up to date on everything we are loving, style wise, here at Belfast Bride from monochrome to pastels!

My first style diary post is from the launch weekend of The Perch Belfast.

Every one of my friends know my absolute staple in fashion is monochrome and I mostly wear black! I am definitely one of the girls who believes in wearing black all day every day no matter what the weather is like. It is 100% my favourite colour and the most flattering on any shape and size. This white top with black lining is from Zara and goes with so much, it can be dressed up and down really simply.

My leather look jeans are from oasis and are only £40. I got them around 2 years ago, I wear them all the time and they still are in great condition.

My shoes are from Next and black strappy heels can really be worn with anything- they look amazing with jeans and are perfect for a night at a bar as you can still looked dressed up while keeping it casual.

My necklace is from Primark and was only £1.50! I have been complimented on it so many times as it looks really similar to the one Holly Willoughby wears. Unfortunately I am someone who loses almost all of my jewellery so I constantly need to buy new accessories. Primark is a haven for any girl who needs to buy jewellery a lot as it is so well priced and looks so much more expensive than it is!

This bag is my absolute favourite and I am in love with it, it’s one of my staples for this summer and is from Zara….. It is my sister’s though so I never really get a chance to wear it unless she isn’t there!

Andrea and Jack’s Engagement!

Who: Andrea Keery and Jack Anker
When: New Years Eve
Where: Attic Rooftop Bar in Times Square, New York

Prepare to be in awe!

As soon as I seen Andrea’s engagement pictures I knew I had to have them on the blog!

As if heading off to New York on New Years Eve wasn’t amazing enough, the lovely Jack decided to get down on one knee and propose to Andrea on the Attic Rooftop Bar in Times Square.

After enjoying a bottle of champagne they ventured up to the balcony for a picture over the ball drop in Times Square. Jack asked a passer-by to take picture of them both during which he got down on one knee!

Dreamy or what!

Andrea told me how she was screaming, crying & laughing whilst everyone around them was cheering and congratulating them.

Now let’s take a moment to look at the ring 😍

It truly sounded like the perfect way to see the new year in. I couldn’t be happier for you Andrea and I cannot wait to see your wedding pictures!
